FAQ: Incorrect Cash Balance

If your cash balance appears incorrect, this can usually be resolved by adjusting your portfolio settings. Here's how to fix it:

Solution: Adjust Portfolio Setting

Enable tracking Margin and Short Selling

  1. Navigate to Settings Page
  2. Click (...) on your portfolio and select Edit Settings
  3. Try to change toggle setting of Enable Margin and Short Selling

  1. Click Save
  2. Refresh the page and verify if the issue is resolved

Why This Happens?

Different brokerages format their reports differently - some include cash transactions while others don't. To handle this variation, Portseido uses an automatic deposit tracking system by default.

When to Enable/Disable the Setting:

ENABLE if you want to manually add all cash transactions.

ENABLE if you have margin trading or short selling activities.

DISABLE if you want Portseido's auto-deposit feature to handle cash transactions for you.
