How to Add Your Trades

Portseido makes it easy to track and manage your investment portfolios. One of the most important steps is importing your trades. We understand that every investor has unique preferences and needs, so we offer three simple ways to add your trades to Portseido:

How to Enter Your Trades in Portseido Correctly

The following table explains how to add transactions in Portseido. Please review it before proceeding.

Field Format Explanation Examples
Date "YYYY-MM-DD" or "YYYYMMDD" Date of transaction.

Consistency is important - choose one date format and use it for all entries
"2025-01-31" or "20250131"
Ticker The asset that you want to log.
Use Asset Search page to find correct ticker to use
((TICKER)) For US stocks, just type ticker name. Tickers will be based from US market. - AAPL
- MSFT
- SPY
- QQQ
((TICKER)).((MARKET)) For stocks from non-US market or other assets. Please check the ticker that it represents the correct market.

For international stocks, include the exchange code.
- AAPL.TO >> Toronto market
- ADYEN.AS >> Amsterdam market
- VUSA.L >> London market
- BTC-USD >> Bitcoin price in USD
- MC.PA >> LVMH listed in Paris
- 9988.HK >> Alibaba listed in HK

Dividend Cash dividend from owning stocks.
- Price (dividend per share) is required.
- Shares is optional. If not specified, system will calculated automatically.

Not required If you use "Auto cash dividend" feature on Portsfolio

Stock dividend Dividend as a share. Required to enter Shares (Unit of received shares)
Shares - [Stocks, ETFs, or cryptos] >> Number of shares/unit bought or sold.

If empty, will use default currency from portfolio setting.
- [Cash] >> Amount of CASH deposited or withdrawn. Amount of CASH must be in USD if currency field is not specified.
Price - If not specified, action price (Buy/Sell price) is set in local currency.
- For currencies like JPY with no decimals, enter whole numbers
Currency (Optional) - You can specify currency if you want to change the price, cash amount and commission currency.
- If skipped, system will use default market currency (Buy and Sell) or USD for cash related transactions (deposit, withdraw, interests, fees and taxes)
Note (Optional) - Add notes to your transactions to remember why you made each trade.
- Notes will also appear as chart annotations.
